It is interesting to note that in the early chapters of this book on the genetic, biochemical, psychological, and sociological approaches, critical reviews are included. No such review is included in the psychodynamic-family dynamic theories of schizophrenia. Since this book provides a critical and often brilliant review of most of the literature on etiology of schizophrenia, it is a valuable supplement to the encyclopedic review of schizophrenia by Bellak. It should be read by anyone interested in the etiology of schizophrenia.
